Specialists in the surgical treatment of gynecological diseases

Our patients have access, at their own medical center, to the specialty of gynecological surgery, which focuses on the surgical treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the female reproductive organs, such as the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and vagina. It treats both benign and malignant conditions, including issues such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, genital prolapse, and gynecological cancer.

Many gynecological surgeries can be performed using minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, which reduce recovery time and complications.

At La Colonia we focus on preventive medicine and recommend completing annual gynecological screening tests, which are carried out in the specialist’s own office or in our diagnostic centers:

Cytology (Pap smear):

It consists of taking samples of cells from the cervix to identify abnormal cellular changes that may indicate cancer or infections.

Ultrasound:

It allows visualization of internal organs such as the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes to detect problems such as fibroids, cysts, or tumors.

Breast examination:

The doctor palpates the breasts to detect any changes or suspicious lumps.

Mammography:

It is a breast X-ray that helps detect tumors and other changes in breast tissue.

Other exams:

Colposcopy: It allows a more detailed examination of the cervix with a microscope.

Hysteroscopy: It consists of inserting a thin instrument through the cervix to observe the uterine cavity.

Biopsies: Tissue samples are taken to examine them under a microscope.

Blood tests: They may be necessary to assess overall health or to detect certain specific conditions.

It is important to remember that the frequency and type of screening tests may vary depending on the patient’s age, family history, and other risk factors. The annual gynecological check-up is crucial for the early detection of possible health problems.
